Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

End of Term
It seems that the end of the term is rushing very quickly towards us. A reminder that the last day of classes for Term 1 is Thursday 1 April. This day will finish at normal time (3:10 pm) and will include an Easter Prayer Service.
A reminder also that we have camps fast approaching:
- Year 8 Camp: Tuesday 23 March to Friday 26 March 2021.
- Year 7 Camp: Monday 29 March to Thursday 1 April 2021.
These promise to be great experiences for our younger students.
Being known at Nazareth
A couple of weeks ago we provided students with a day to work from home so we could take some time with each student individually. The aim was to focus on their learning and their goals and how we can assist them to grow and develop as a student and as a person this year. Each person in our community is sacred and it is our desire to really know each student as a person and as a learner.
The day provided an opportunity for time with each student to deepen our knowledge of them and further develop the important relationships between students and their Pastoral Teachers. We are very grateful for the efforts of the parents who were able to attend the Zoom Meetings and are looking at ways in the future we can best continue to further support the growth of each student as a person and a learner.
Year 7 Reflection Day
On Thursday 18 March 2021 our Year 7 students had their first Reflection Day at Nazareth. The first half of the day was lead by the Year 11 Youth Ministry class and the day focused on new beginnings, friendship and belonging. It was a great day for our Year 7 students and lead them more deeply into the heart of our Nazareth Community.
The Year 7 students were invited to wear appropriate casual clothing and bring a $2.00 donation for Project Compassion.
Holy Week
As we move towards Holy Week, the most significant week in the Church's calendar, there are ceremonies in your local parish to celebrate and commemorate these events. Please find attached a list of the Easter Services in our local parishes.

School life
Post 2020 it has been great to see more sport on campus, a School Tour, some incursions and excursions. We are starting to return to more of the normal and very active life of our school. We hope and pray this can continue. We are reminded with SIS Sport, the musical, music lessons, the College St Vincent de Paul Conference, Building Bridges, Homework Club etc, just how many opportunities there are at Nazareth College. We continue to encourage all students to get actively involved in the life of the College in 2021.
Emergency Procedures
On Thursday 11 March 2021 we had a presentation to the whole school community on the Emergency Procedures. An Evacuation Drill was held on Tuesday 16 March 2021 as part of our desire to make sure we are prepared should an emergency occur. The students did a great job in their Evacuation Drill. We are not anticipating anything, but trying to be ready should something occur.
Term 2 2021
A reminder that classes for Term 2 commence on Tuesday 20 April 2021. I hope and pray all members of our Nazareth Community have a Happy and Holy Easter and a great holiday.
