Progress Report: Class Bands

In years 3 to 6 we have been learning skills to support a full band program. Each lesson comprises one or two social dances to develop beat, rhythm and body coordination, a rhythm reading activity, a solfege singing activity and practice on instruments.

This term all years 3 & 4 students have worked on Dance Monkey and year 5 & 6 have studied Seven Nation Army. Years 5 & 6 are working towards Battle of the Bands to be staged at the end of Term 2. I will hold class concerts for years 3 & 4 in Term 3. The talent at this school is very impressive.

Here is an example of how it all comes together.

Thank you 4K & 6K for these videos:

Choir - Years 3 - 6

Thank you to the students who have signed up and attend on Tuesday mornings at 8am. Keep up the good work!

One request is that we don’t enter through the OSHC gate. It’s a bit too congested with the numbers of parents and students coming through. Please enter via the Ailsa Road Gate nearest the hall and the Tree House. Liz Bonetti has offered to monitor the gate. We thank her for doing this.

Following up on a few messages in Class Dojo:

Choir is for students in years 3 – 6. Currently we have almost 60 students coming to choir each week. Unfortunately for this reason I can’t take students from the junior classes. We just don’t have enough space.

Auslan Leaders

Auslan leaders will be presenting the National Anthem at the assembly on Monday. Our leaders are doing a wonderful job and their contribution to inclusivity within the school is appreciated.

Yours in Music,
