Meet our Wellbeing Team

Please note this is 'part' of our amazing Wellbeing team. Girls at the Centre and Clontarf will feature in future additions.
Hello my name is Elise Malberg. I grew up in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria. I commuted to school in Melbourne when I was in secondary college. I have one younger brother, and he moved to Seattle in Washington State with his partner about 4 years ago. I have been to visit him once during that time. During the visit he took me to the Olympics National Park. It was very cold and rainy, just like in the Twilight movies. I also got to see orcas (killer whales) in the wild, but I didn’t see a bear or a werewolf.
My family will attend his wedding via zoom during the Easter Holidays. I went to university twice. I went to the University of Melbourne, and then I studied at Deakin University.
When I finished my first degree in Environmental Science and Japanese, I went on an adventure and began a working holiday in Japan. It was a 6 month trip that turned into 4.5 years. I have lots of friends there and I miss them very much. I love to spend my holidays travelling the world. There is so much to learn about the resilience of culture and community around the world. I love turning the corner and discovering a completely new experience. I am looking forward to be able to travel again soon.
My name is Lisa Sidoti. I moved to East Gippsland in 2018. I previously lived in Inverloch and worked for DET Student Support Services for 16 years – working with students across 26 schools in the South Gippsland Network. In May 2021, I will have worked in education for 20 years ! I grew up in Melbourne and studied Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and Bachelor of Social Work at Monash University. In 2010 I volunteered in Fiji for 12 months supporting children and young people to understand their rights. My husband is retired and our son is living in Melbourne studying at Swinburne Uni. I love spending my time camping, travelling and hiking.
Hi I am your school nurse Sophie. If you haven’t seen me around you probably have seen my little shadow Charlie Brown. Charlie is our College dog and he quietly trots around looking for pats and generally makes everyone relax a little and smile. I was born in England, then moved with my family to Canada for high school. I started nursing in the US then worked in the Middle East before coming to Australia 20 years ago, Australia felt like home so I am still here. I run and swim to stay mentally healthy. I love the beach. My children, Charlie and me go camping at Cape Conran when we can…it’s a special place.
Hello my name is Adrian Marriott. I am the College Chaplain at BSC. I was born and raised in Melbourne. I have called East Gippsland home for nearly 2 years and I’m loving the area and the people. I am married and have 3, soon to be 4 children.
I love sports, music, fishing and camping, and being cheeky with my offbeat sense of humour! I am passionate about the wellbeing journey of youth and consider it a privilege to work with the students, families and staff here at BSC.
Hi my name is Bec O’Reilly. I attended Bruthen Primary school and then came to Bairnsdale Secondary College graduating in 2003. I continued to study and work in many different fields including running my own mobile dog grooming service 'Razzle Dazzle Dogs' and worked as a funeral directors assistant for Peter Murray Funerals. I completed my diploma in youth work in 2019 while working for Nungurra youth accommodation service. I am married, I have 3 children, all under 11 years old. We also have cat called Dexter and an Irish Wolfhound called Tarlok. I enjoy travelling, camping, drawing and tattoos. I really enjoy meeting and supporting students and being part of the Wellbeing Team.
Hello my name is Margo Michaelson, I arrived with my son in Bairnsdale late May 2020. I grew up in South Australia by the sea and later went to high school in Adelaide. During high school I was heavily involved in sport and music, playing trombone in the school band and for productions and doing shot put, triple jump and running. I have worked with youth in a variety of education settings including juvenile justice and a youth agency, across South Australia and Victoria. During my spare time I do long distance running as I’m training for a half marathon in May. I also love kayaking around the beautiful Gippsland Lakes. My favourite holiday place is Queenstown, New Zealand!
Hi my name is Rebecca Armstrong , my role within the Wellbeing Team is to provide administrative support.
I grew up in Bairnsdale and attended Bairnsdale High School. My family and I returned back to Bairnsdale nearly exactly two years ago, after leaving Bairnsdale nearly 27 years ago !! I have two children who attend the College, one of which loves to see his mum at school (NOT!) I have lived in four different states with the longest period of 20 years spent south of Adelaide. I have worked within schools for the past 10 years. I am happy to be ‘home’ and working within a caring and supportive team.
My picture shows off my very spoilt pup Jett, who like me, loves visiting Marlo!
Hello my name is Alara, I’m a Kurnai woman.
I am the youngest of 10, my mother was born in Coburg and has lived in Gippsland for over 30 years, and my father was a Kurnai man, born on Bung Yarnda. I was born in Bairnsdale and spent the majority of my life at Sarsfield.
I attended Woolum Bellum KODE School, Bruthen Primary, then Lucknow Primary and completed my high school education at Bairnsdale Secondary College. I left Bairnsdale to attend university in Melbourne. I studied Ancient World History and Psychology. I’ve worked at the College for almost 5 years.
I miss the city from time to time, especially the ability to easily go to concerts, museums and protests but living out of town means that I have learnt to live with, and appreciate the quiet. I enjoy reading poetry, listening to music especially heavy metal or rock, and spending my weekends binging anything related to true crime, horror or philosophy.
The photo of me displayed is of my 3rd birthday party, it was a very large event with lots of family attending.
Hi my name is Hayley Blythman. I am the youngest of 3 kids. I have two brothers. I’ve lived in Bairnsdale my whole life. I attended Bairnsdale West Primary school and then Bairnsdale Secondary College. I have worked at BSC for 5 years, firstly as an integration aide and now as part of the Wellbeing Team. I am currently studying my Bachelor of Psychology. I am a fan of all things Harry Potter and love Disney/Pixar movies. I play table tennis pennant on Wednesday nights. I like to bake and read books when I can. Crime documentaries interest me more than romcoms.
