Colour Ya World

Its time to get the community together!

The Apex Club of Bairnsdale and the HIIT factory Bairnsdale are ecstatic to be able to bring the  Colour Ya World event to Bairnsdale this Easter Saturday 3rd April from 11am.

It’s a 5 km fun run with a twist and explosion of colour ending with a DJ dance party; bringing lots of fun, laughter and colour into the community.

An event for everyone! Anyone from the age of 2 to 102 can participate in Colour Ya World and it is suitable for any fitness level. Walk, skip, run, jump or dance your way through an explosion of colour as you take in the scenery of the beautiful Mitchell River. This event is disability friendly, with easy access to the start and finish line.

The group secured a One Good Community Wellbeing Grant from Gippsland Primary Health Network in the aftermath of the 2019-2020 bushfire season to run the event as a fundraiser and promote community wellbeing. All funds raised from this event will be donated locally to assist with drought and fire recovery in the East Gippsland region.

Community wellbeing is at the heart of the Apex Club of Bairnsdale; as small group of volunteers who work to hold community events that bring us all together for a fun and entertainment.

For further information on ticket sales or to register as a volunteer, please access the website colouryaworld.com.au

Bruthen teen hang-out space

Bruthen & District Neighbourhood House is working toward holding regular activities and hang-out space for young people 12 – 18 in Term 2 and beyond. We recognise there is a need to have alternate free activities that provide opportunities for self-expression and social connection in a safe space.

This term we are working with Headspace to provide Jam Sessions. The Headspace youth workers will chat with the participants to see what types of program and activities might appeal. Details of the upcoming Jam Session on Thursday 25th March are below - pizza is included!
