Triple M: Mental Maths Moment
Welcome to Triple M: the Mental Maths Moment!
You have entered an exciting new area, specifically for our budding mathematicians! Each fortnight there will be an engaging mental Maths problem that you can discuss and work out with your family members. The first student to email me the correct answer will earn a point into the end of term prize draw.
Thank you to all the students who emailed last week. It was fantastic to see so many of you explaining how you got the answer!

Week 8 Challenge:
Junior question [Yr 7-9]
I went into a store and spent half of my money and then $20 more. I went into a second store and spent half of my remaining money and then $20 more. Then I had no money left. How much money did I have when I went into the first store?
Senior Question [10-12]
A co-operative farm has three subdivisions: A, B and C. The subdivisions lend equipment to each other as needed. In the beginning A lent B and C as many tractors as each then had. Several months later B lent A and C as many tractors as each then had. The following spring, C lent A and B as many tractors as each then had. Each Subdivision then had 16 tractors. How many tractors did each have to begin with?
