Meet our College Captains

2021

Milly Cortese - CRA College Captain

What do you see as your role as a leader?

I believe that my role is to share the thoughts of all students, no matter who it is from, or what it is about, so that as an executive we can take action on issues that really matter to the student body. As a leader I also want to be a person that can provide support and encouragement to other students by listening and caring about their ideas.

What is one of the positives about being a student at St. Peter's College?

One of the things I really enjoy about this school is the care that is always present from the staff and from other students. As a student I always feel valued and appreciated and want to help develop this continuous feeling of support so that everyone can really enjoy their time at St. Peter’s College.

Who is the one person you admire most and why?

My Mum because she is a very kind and hardworking person, who has taught me that no matter how difficult things may seem you can always accomplish your goals.

What are your goals as College Captain in 2021?

My main goal is to create a super fun and exciting year for our college, especially since we weren’t able to achieve as much in 2020. I want to do this by implementing as many ideas from the students as possible, so that the changes made can be student driven and contribute to a positive environment at the school.

How will you live this statement through your leadership role?

During my role and studies this year this statement can help to remind me that I’m not alone and that I have the constant support of my family, friends and teachers through all of my endeavours. I also want this quote to encourage me to be a leader that can help lift others up and give them strength when they are struggling.

In one sentence what is the one thing that you would  like to say to your fellow students?

Make the most of every opportunity, you never know what’s around the corner.

Callum Pola - CRA College Captain

What do you see as your role as a leader?

My role as a leader is to influence, guide and help put the vision of 2021 into place. Whilst it cannot be achieved alone, this has to become a whole school approach. And that's the student's voice I'd like to implement this following year.

What is one of the positives about being a student at St. Peter's College?

Feeling welcomed and a part of the college community. Without hesitation I feel as if I can be myself and honest with my strengths and weaknesses towards my leadership and learning.

Who is the one person you admire most and why?

I most admire my brother Matthew, for being able to raise a child during the COVID-19 pandemic. Opening my eyes to how important family & friends are during the tough times.

What are your goals as College Captain in 2021?

As Captain, I want to change the views and perspectives of students, families and the community, to a positive look on how the school upholds its learning. And to also put the student voice into action.

How will you live this statement through your leadership role?

Whilst being in Year 12, or any year level in that fact, this is a quote you can always refer to when you’re lost, down or not having the best day. Down days are inevitable, so this statement can become the spine that directs and reassures us when we are lost. That is something I want to focus on and show through my leadership.

In one sentence what is the one thing that you would  like to say to your fellow students?

Without all the College students, I wouldn’t be here as College Captain. You instilled your trust and faith in me, and that’s something I hold so dearly. It’s now my turn to repay in whatever way I can. Please don’t hesitate to come up and have a chat, about anything. Enjoy your week :)
