House Welcome Evening and Open Evening

Tuesday, 9 March 2021 and Thursday , 11 March 2021 marked an important occasion for the St. Peter’s College community, with students and their families being invited into the College to our House Welcome and Information Evening. During this important evening, Learning Conversations featured for our Year 7 and Year 8 parents and students which allowed for a sharing of information around the strengths of our students, opportunities for further development within their learning and the data which supports teacher’s ability to work towards improving the literacy and numeracy of our students.

A strong sense of engagement was shared by the Year 7 families, along with those in Year 9 at the Clyde North Campus with the Passion Projects being on display. Students confidently spoke about the work they had undertaken during our Head Start Program, which has continued to take shape over the first half of Term 1. Led by Daniel Green (XPAND Coach) and Aidan Stewart (Pastoral Care Leader Year 9), the amazing team within the Year 9 Program have developed a curriculum worthy of challenging our students and supporting their learning outcomes in the passions which take their interests under the STEM, HUME, REC and Challenge curriculum areas.

This event is always well attended and we would like to extend our thanks to the House Leaders and Learning Advisors for driving the learning conversations and making our families feel so welcome. In the lead up, our Middle Year’s Curriculum Leaders along with our Acting Learning Systems and Data Coach, Mrs Jade Smith worked to ensure the data was ready and staff felt supported and guided in each conversation. The work they had undertaken was invaluable and very much appreciated. Finally, to our student helpers who supported Houses, acted as tour guides and made our community so welcoming, we thank you!

The next opportunity we have to show case all our wonderful community has to offer will occur on Tuesday, 16 March 2021 at the Cranbourne Campus and Thursday, 18 March 2021 at the Clyde North Campus, in our Open Evening. Bus stops will be set up at each of the key learning areas with our Faculty Coaches and key staff providing information and demonstrations on all St. Peter’s College has to offer our future students. This will include introductions to the new facilities at both campuses; the Donnelly VCAL building at our Cranbourne Campus and the VET Hospitality/ Food/ Performing Arts and VET Music building at Clyde North. If you know of students from other schools or families who are considering moving into the area and want to view St. Peter’s College as a prospective school, please ensure you make them aware of this exciting opportunity. We welcome all new families from all years to this amazing event and thank the staff and students in advance of their hard work and support.
