Mathematics

Term 3 was a very busy term for Year 11 and 12 students, completing their assessments and making sure all their classroom work was finished before Term 4 begins. Open Day was very successful and the students’ Mathematics displays looked fantastic, along with all the other work from different curriculum areas. The students demonstrated a high level of presentation and many parents, friends and other guests commented positively on the effort that was put into the Open Day displays. Congratulations to all students on the time you put into Mathematics.

The Year 12's (General) will no longer be with us as they finished their assessments at the end of Term 3, unless they need to come back and finish any work in Farm and Trades. We wish all the leavers good luck and all the best for the future.

The Year 11's are still with us and have a very short and busy term ahead of them. During weeks 1 to 5 the students will be studying Topic 2.4: Time and Motion. In ‘Time’ students will be looking at conversions of units of time, 12/24 hour clocks, calculating time intervals, and comparison of journeys. For the topic, ‘Distance and Length’, students will be calculating distance on maps using scale and applying practical applications. Lastly, in ‘Speed’, students will be completing work on appropriate units, calculating speed and applying practical applications. During weeks 6 and 7, the Year 11's will be completing an Integrated Project that combines a range of skills from the topics covered this year. Their assessments will include practical applications for tasks 9 and 10. We are looking forward to a very productive term.
