Kite & Reptile Incursion

Last week the students were treated to two incursions in school. A kite-creating and showcasing day, and reptile facts and interaction time.

Michael from Kite Kinetics held workshops for each year; this is where the students were able to create their own kites. Unfortunately, our lower Primary students weren't able to test-fly them as there was no wind, but we heard there was plenty of kite action over the weekend! Michael showcased many of his own kites, the highlight being the 12-metre whale shark at the end of the day! It was very cool to see, as was the Secondary students box kites!

Adam from Perth Reptile Company also visited us with his slithering reptile friends. The students were given the opportunity to hold two different types of lizards and a number of different types of pythons. Some were braver than others! Even some of the staff had a hold! Thank you to the parent volunteers who came in to assist the kids with their kite-making. It was a huge help. Thank you to both Adam and Michael for an educational, but fun and interactive day!

Brilliant Brains

Last week saw the Emergency Services visit BB.  The children were extremely lucky to see inside the ambulance, police car and Bonnie Rock fire truck.  The highlights were riding in the wheelchair and stretcher and spraying the hose. A massive thank you to Kaye Bunney and Tony Taylor, Terry Mather and Kim Graham for giving up your time to educate the children.  We are all extremely appreciative.
