Junior Athletics

The first Junior House Athletics event for some years was run in the school grounds on Monday October 21. Around 150 students from the Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 classes played six traditional Athletic events during the afternoon. The events included running at the baton relays and hurdles, throwing in the Vortex throw and jumping in the long jump and the sack race. Children also improved their balance by completing the egg and spoon races.

The events were run superbly by Grade 6F students under the guidance of Mr Ferguson. Students were awarded House points for each event completed. Eventually Parkes triumphed by just one point from Barton, and Deakin came in third place. It was a great event enjoyed by many attending parents and staff. We can see St Andrews Christian College will have some Olympians-to-be in the 2032 Brisbane games.

Year 7/8 Girls Volleyball

A huge congratulations to our Year 7/8 girls volleyball team (made up of all yr 7’s as the 8’s were on camp). Both St Andrews and Waverly NW had won 1 set each. It was a tight final and deciding 3rd set with our girls winning 15-12. The girls wanted to give a big shout out to Mr Adamek & Mr Haines for all their support and great coaching!
