Term 3  Week 4

Just a reminder of some upcoming key dates for this term:

  • 17th-23rd August / Week 5 - Book Week / LNPS Pre-loved Book Sale / Author Visit
  • 6th September / Week 7 – Last day to hand in your Premier’s Reading Challenge

BOOK WEEK

I hope all students are getting incredibly excited to dress up in their costumes this Book Week and show it off in our annual parade! I am looking very forward to seeing what special and clever ideas everyone has come up with!

As always we encourage all students to dress up as their favourite book characters for the parade to celebrate stories and the joy of reading. We would love to see some creative costumes that are connected to books or the theme Reading is My Secret Power.

PRE-LOVED BOOK SALE

I would like to remind families to bring in any donations of pre-loved books to kick start our book sale next week! Please see the attachment for more information.

NEW SERIES BOXES

With the new location for our series boxes, we decided another update should be made to ensure a sense of tidiness. All the coloured series boxes have now been replaced and are looking quite uniform! This way I have found is it now much easier for the children to browse this area and find the book they are looking for due to the simple design of the labels and the matching gold boxes.

PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE

Students have only a few weeks left to hand in their Premier's Reading Challenge sheets to the library. Just a reminder that only one sheet is required to receive a reward.

BORROWING

Early Years – Reception & Years 1/2 children can borrow 2 books

Torrens – Years 3/4 children can borrow 4 books

Fisher – Years 5, 6 & 7 children can borrow 6 books

Parents – Can borrow up to 10 books

Books can be kept for a maximum of 2 weeks. All that is required is a library bag (for Reception, Year 1/2) and no overdue books. Students are encouraged to manage their own library bag and to borrow regularly.

RETURNING

Students can either place books they want to return in their classroom library box or directly into the green returns box in the library. Please note that lost or damaged books will incur a $10 payment. If the book is found however, the money will be refunded.
