Fresh Food Fair Wrap 2022
Thank You Surfside!!!!
It has been 3 years in the making and what an evening it was for our 2022 Surfside Primary School Fresh Food Fair. We faced the challenge of cold, wind and rain but these challenges were not holding anyone back from bringing our community together again. As DJ Nikki Short was spinning her final tunes towards the end of the evening we even saw a glimpse of sunshine peep through those clouds. There was something for everyone with food, drink, music, rides, show bags, games, face painting, all kinds of stuff to browse or buy and even some cuddly animals!!
To prepare for such a massive event there are so many people to thank for all of their behind the scenes efforts and assistance on the day - we were never short of a helping hand. There were so many people who experienced the Fresh Food Fair for the first time and we hope it is the first of many more to come.
- We would like to thank Stacey O'Keefe who is our key organiser, for her knowledge, communication, support and calm exterior throughout the planning stages and event itself - 3 cheers for Stacey!!!
- A big thank you to our organising committee who performed a variety of jobs in the lead up and throughout the evening.
- A big thank you to all of our families who assisted throughout the day for set up and throughout the evening on the variety of stalls.
- Well done and thank you to our administration staff for coordinating the many logistical and financial roles throughout the event and in preparation.
- A big thank you to Fleur, Clancey and all of our kitchen and garden helpers, staff and students for all of the culinary delights and garden activities, as it was a great opportunity to showcase what our school does so well.
- A big thank you to Mr Murphy, Mr Morzinek and our school band for organising the music showcase for the evening. And well done and thank you to our special guests, Mark Huglin and DJ Nikki Short for providing the entertainment for the evening.
- To all of the students and staff for organising and working on the many stalls and activities you went above and beyond and provided us all with such a memorable evening.
- Most of all a big thank you to the whole Surfside community for coming together to support our school!!!
Our Fresh Food Fair is our major fundraiser to support the Kitchen and Garden program at Surfside and we have been overwhelmed with your support. We are still working through finalising payments and invoices and should have a final fundraising amount to release next Wednesday evening, but we are very confident that this was by far the biggest Fresh Food Fair in Surfside's history. A big thank you to our sponsors and supporters of the 2022 event and we hope to have you back on board for our 2023 edition.
