Runners up State Soccer 2022

SSV VICTORIAN STATE SOCCER

Alexia:

Before the holidays on the 31st of August the girls soccer team went on to the State Championships to play other teams who won their regionals in their state.

The first team that we played was Ballarat  Primary School. The star players in this game were Lexi, Molo, Sophia, the final score was 8-0, This game was definitely  one of the funnest games that we had played that day.

Emi

In the second game we played against St Gabriels. We played really well, especially Emi and Paige. We conceded 1 goal from a free kick, but that did not stop us from playing our hardest. We ended up scoring some really good goals and beat them 6-1.

Ella

The 3rd game we played was against Diamond Creek Primary School, the winner of this game would make it straight into the grand final. Everyone in our team was so determined to get into the final, so we played our hardest. The final score was 6-0. The star player in this game was Connie, for kicking an amazing goal. We were all so happy that St Agnes had made it to the Victorian State Championships.

Paige:

St Agnes made it into the grand final and we were so happy. In the finals we played St Patricks. In the first minute or so they scored two very quick goals, but otherwise our team was very strong, but sadly we couldn’t get those 2 goals back. Some star players in this game were Erica and Stella, as a reward ended up getting a ball from some sponsors.

Although everyone was disappointed at the loss, we are very proud of where we made it as 300 schools entered this competition and to come runners up is very good.

Thank you to all of our players who came on the day and thank you to Mr Kost for training us and for organising everything leading up to this day. Also thank you to  Chris Tsoukalas for coaching us on the day.

We also got medals at the end of the competition. Congratulations to St Patricks

Holt District Athletics Carnival

On Thursday 1st of September, the Year 3-6 students went to Duncan McKinnon Reserve for Athletics against eight other schools. The St Agnes students competed in all track and field events. In the percentage shield we came second and in the overall shield we came fourth. One of the most successful students was Callan Duddy who won the 800 meters by over 100 meters and won the 1500 meters while lapping two other people. We had a really fun and active day at Duncan Mckinnon Reserve.
