Congratulations Year 12 and farewell

As we formally farewelled our departing Year 12 boarders last week, we were able to highlight how far our boarders have come, not only as individuals, but as a collective group of brothers and sisters. Sixteen Year 12 boarders officially farewelled Mac or Speirs House at the end of year boarder’s dinner. With family’s travelling from near and far we enjoyed a wonderful evening together. We enjoyed the company of each other and reconnected as a community. 

The time spent simply chatting with each other was something we all have sincerely missed these last few years. Listening to our Boarding House Captains, Henry Haynes and Alexa Balog, speak so passionately about their time was a proud moment, as was announcing this year’s recipient of the Anita MacDonald Trophy. 

The Anita MacDonald trophy is awarded to a Year 12 student who shows great compassion for others, helps others, is responsible and has given wonderful service to the day-to-day life at the boarding house. This year’s recipient is Lucy Roberts. Lucy has been a boarder at College for six years and without question exemplifies the College values leading other boarders by example. I hope boarders in the younger year levels are able to look upon Lucy’s leadership and see that they too, are able to follow in her footsteps. Congratulations Lucy.

Boarding House community – zoom chat

Next Wednesday at 7 pm (VICTORIAN TIME) we will be hosting our termly zoom meeting. Our meeting usually runs for close to an hour, so feel free to jump in at any stage. The meeting is a good opportunity to listen to an update on all things boarding, as well as the day school. 

We’re looking forward to seeing all your faces online. If you are not able to be there in the evening but would like to still be up to date, we will have the meeting recorded for your to watch at a later date.
