Wedding Bliss

This Saturday our beautiful Miss Chrissie Marakis and her partner Theo will be getting married.  We hope the day will be filled with joy, love and happiness and we wish them well as they begin a new life together.

Camp

Today our Year 6 children along with Miss Borg, Mrs Childs, Miss Poropat and Mr O'Loughlin departed for Camp Marysville. There was loads of excitement and understandably some nerves as children boarded the bus for the three days ahead.

The aim of our camping program is to provide opportunities within the context of our Catholic principles and values that:

  • Develop deeper learning, confidence, independence, responsibility and sense of community
  • Promotes self-esteem, resilience, resourcefulness and leadership
  • Extends learning beyond the classroom
  • Provides opportunities to explore different environmental settings
  • Develops an appreciation of the wonder of the world
  • Enhances physical, social and emotional growth
  • Promotes growth of relationships

We hope our children have a wonderful time and the weather doesn't effect the myriad of activities (e.g. rock climbing, mountain bike riding, abseiling) the camp has to offer.

Timetable Changes

To facilitate our Year 5/6 Camp there will need to be timetable changes this week.  Please refer below:

Swimming Program

Our Year Prep-4 Swimming Program commences next Wednesday 2nd November which is the day after Melbourne Cup Day and will run for eight (8) consecutive days at the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre.

Information and permission requests were sent out last week via Operoo.

Please ensure that all items of clothing and the swimming bag are clearly labelled with the child’s name and grade. No jewellery is to be worn during the swimming program.

Parents who wish to observe their children swim are asked to adhere to the following guidelines as set by the Maribyrnong Aquatic Centre:

  • ALL parents/spectators must enter through the main entrance doors and report to customer service to advise they are watching the swim program with the school
  • No photographs are to be taken by parents/spectators
  • Parents/spectators must remain 4 metres from the edge of the pool and are NOT to approach children (or instructors) during lessons

Throughout the program, we encourage the children to be as independent as possible, including getting themselves dressed in the change rooms after their lesson (You will be surprised how capable they actually are). In conjunction with our Child Safety Policy, parents are NOT  permitted in the change rooms while the children are getting changed. Teachers will be reminding you of this so please respect their requests. We also ask that items from the canteen are not purchased for children.

During the swimming program, it is important that all children have a healthy and hearty breakfast and that they bring some extra healthy snacks to keep them going throughout the day, especially since they will be having an earlier lunch than normal.

Important Notice!

Believe it or not, we are well into planning preparations for 2023  so to assist with staffing and class groupings we really need to know ASAP if there are any families who are NOT returning to Corpus Christi School next year.

Please contact me directly if your child/ren will not be returning in 2023.

School Closure day

Please be reminded that next Monday is a School Closure Day: Staff Professional Development Day and students do NOT attend school. With next Tuesday being a public holiday we will see you all next Wednesday!

Have a wonderful week
