Out of School Hours Care

Malvern Primary School

Greetings Malvern PS community! It is time for another issue of the TheirCare News.

          What’s NEW at TheirCare

Together with our amazing Area Manager (Natalie Rydqvist) we changed our program for the first time in 2 years. On the 27th of October, Malvern Primary School had a visit from the deparment  for an Assessment and Rating. We are still waiting for our results, but the feedabck we got from parents leading up to the assessment made the day less daunting. Newly implemented areas include: New tables and chairs in the kitchen, Sustainbaility corner to promote recycling, dress up area, homework table and a reading corner.

During our assessment week, we also celebrated Halloween at TheirCare. Children loved the activities and some less scary decorations all over our service. We experienced some arty-crafty and sensory play activities, with making our own playdough and monster pasta.  A new addition is our construction table, and letting the children use recycled material to build anything they want.

Week 5, the theme was Wild animals, a request from one of our students. The children loved learning about the different wild animals, especially the ones from South Africa. The children used some straws to make their own art work using watercolour paint and used clay to make some amazing animals. We just love seeing the creativity from everyone here!
