From the Head of Senior School

Mr Trent Chapman

“Starting strong is good. Finishing strong is epic.”

Robin Sharma, best-selling author and leadership expert.

End of year exams are fast approaching for Years 7-10 students. In the coming weeks, students will be given study tips, revision materials and practice exam papers for their various subjects. Now is the time for effective revision and preparation. I encourage all students to commit to finishing the year well, both in and out of the classroom, and giving their best effort in the yearly exams.

Hats off to teachers this World Teachers’ Day!

“It has been a challenging couple of years for everyone and our teachers have supported our children through it all. Despite the lockdowns and changes to lesson delivery our students are still managing excellent results, nominations to HSC showcases and offers of early entrance to universities. This could not have happened without the dedication and support of an excellent academic team. The Parents and Friends would like the teachers to know how valued they are”.

Kinross Wolaroi School Parents & Friends Association

This Friday 28 October 2022, Australia will celebrate World Teachers Day and our P&F Association is generously providing coffee and baked goods for our staff to enjoy. I take this opportunity to thank our P&F Association for their kindness and ongoing support.

Hair policy revised

The Kinross Wolaroi School Uniform Policy has been amended to provide additional clarity on the gender-neutral rules relating to hair style. The following rules are applicable to all students:

  • Students’ hair is clean and neat. As such, mullets, punk styles, crew cuts, shaved heads, spikes, wedges, ridges or other unusual lines or shapes cut into the hair are not permitted.
  • Hair longer than the collar is neatly tied back or plaited.
  • Fringes are clear of the eyebrows, ensuring eyes are clearly visible, and all hair is kept off the face.
  • Hair must be a natural single colour at all times.
  • Hair accessories are school regulation, available for purchase from the uniform shop.
  • The school scarf (Years 3-10 or Years 11-12) may also be worn in the hair.

Collecting Riding boots for RDA

A friendly reminder to our families and wider community that the Orange branch of RDAA currently has a shortage of riding boots for their young riders. If any of our families have riding boots that are no longer needed, then RDAA would love to give them a new home. Riding boots of any size that are in good condition can be left at the Senior School Reception office.
