2023 HSC Disability Provisions applications now open

Disability Provisions are practical arrangements designed to help students who can’t otherwise make a fair attempt to show what they know in an examination setting. The school determines and approves adjustments for school-based assessment tasks, and NESA determines the provisions for HSC exams. That means students currently receiving provisions as determined by the school will need to complete an application for provisions for HSC exams.

Provisions may be approved for students who have a physical, intellectual, psychiatric, sensory, neurological or learning disability. Provisions are designed to reduce the disadvantage of disabilities in an exam situation. It is not embarrassing to apply for provisions. Provisions help you to show the markers what you know and can do.

Learning Support are responsible for coordinating applications for Provisions for students with physical and learning disabilities. The School Psychologists are responsible for coordinating applications for provisions for students with neurological and psychiatric conditions. This includes anxiety disorders, depression, eating disorders and ADHD where these conditions impact a student’s ability to perform to their potential during an examination.

The application process includes providing supporting documentation from treating health professionals as well as teachers and the student. The deadline for applying for provisions for existing conditions is the last day of Term 1, 2023.

Forms can be collected from Counselling and Psychological Services in the Student Support Suite (Anderson Centre)
