Deputy Principal's News

“In contrast to logic, there is common sense, or still better, the Spirit of Reasonableness"

Lin Yutang

Hello Fatima! My name is Gill Carr and I am thrilled to be your new Deputy Principal. I moved from Olinda to Rosebud 2 years ago with my husband Huw and our two cheeky cats, Loki and Coolie. We have two grown up daughters who have left home so we made a sea change to have some new adventures and we are very glad we did. I love to have fish and chips on the beach and go for walks in the local area, especially with my friends.

I really love music and can play the piano (a bit rusty!). I also enjoy art and reading in my spare time. I have been a teacher since 1995 and have done lots of interesting things in my career, from teaching music in the western suburbs to teaching Year 8 History in downtown London! My last 11 years of teaching have been in the Seaford parish, which I really enjoyed.

Now that I live in Rosebud, when the chance came up to be at Fatima in my local community I couldn’t wait to apply! I am really passionate about helping students to build their thinking skills and challenge their ideas, with a special interest in performing arts, Maths and STEM. I think there are lots of ways to learn and it is my job to help everyone to find their own special way and learn about how their brain works best. I am so excited to get to know the students, staff and parents at Fatima so please come and say hi any time!
