Kelly Sharp, Head of Maths

Kelly comes to Huntingtower from her position of Head of Mathematics at Korowa Anglican Girls School since 2018. Past appointments have included Scotch College, Trinity Grammar School, Melbourne Girls’ Grammar and Firbank Grammar School.

Kelly holds a Master of Education, a Diploma of Education and a Bachelor of Science focused on Mathematics. Kelly is passionate about Mathematics and uses a myriad of techniques to encourage and inspire students to study Mathematics. Kelly has in depth experience in creating and developing curriculums for all year levels and VCE. 

 

 

David Mowat, Head of Music

David comes to Huntingtower from Wesley College where he was the Assistant Head of Music for over twenty years. David has been the driving force behind every major music event and curriculum design up to VCE. He is an experienced classroom music teacher and conductor of numerous orchestra’s and has led six successful international music tours. David has directed over 16 musicals and his experience as a musician has equipped him with performance experience in a wide range of genres at a professional level. His ultimate aim for students is to engage them in practical music regardless of which level they enter the program. By providing them with moments of excitement which ultimately develop a lifelong appreciation of music. David holds Graduate Diploma of Education and a Diploma of Arts in Music.

 

 

Kayla Sims, Head of Choral/Music Teacher

Kayla joins Huntingtower after eight years as the Music Coordinator at Ave Maria College. There she gained considerable experience not only as a classroom teacher but also in establishing several ensembles, choir conducting, musical directing, composition, music arrangement, event coordination and implemented their Instrumental Music Program.  Kayla holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance majoring in Classical voice as well as a Graduate Diploma in Education. Kayla is also an accomplished singer and sustains a vigorous performance schedule with several opera companies which allows her to be fully knowledgeable and show expertise in the content she is teaching.

 

 

Alison Birchall, Head of Library & Digital Resourcing

Alison is a dedicated Librarian with over nine years’ experience solidified at Westbourne Grammar School. Alison is passionate about books and reading and thoroughly enjoys fostering a love of literature with her students. Whilst at Westbourne, she developed a cohesive library curriculum that focused on information literacy and research skills across multiple campuses, with an emphasis on Middle and Senior Years. Alison holds a Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship) and a Bachelor of Teaching and Arts. Alison also brings with her experience in debating and supporting students’ wellbeing.

 

 

Danielle Holden, English Teacher

Danielle is a passionate and engaging secondary graduate teacher who has achieved academic excellence in her own studies and brings with her sophisticated content knowledge in English and Drama. Danielle completed her placements at Elwood College, Mount Erin College and St Peter’s College and thrives on providing a classroom environment that fosters a safe and challenging environment in which students feel empowered to shape their learning. Danielle holds a Master of Teaching (Secondary) and a Bachelor of Arts. She is also a gifted literacy tutor.

 

 

Sarah Rossiter, Psychology & Science Teacher

Sarah has enjoyed the last thirteen years at Marcellin College where she actively contributed to the development and learning programs within the Science department and in her capacity as a classroom teacher. She has worked across a number of year levels with extensive knowledge in Psychology, Biology and Junior Sciences. Sarah likes to include a wide range of teaching methods that cater for the different styles and ways that students learn. A lifelong learner, Sarah has completed a Master of Education (Student Wellbeing) focusing primarily on the connection between wellbeing and curriculum, a Bachelor of Science (Anatomy & Psychology) and a Bachelor of Education. Sarah is looking to explore ways to cultivate project based learning and the STEM curriculum in 2022.

 

 

Rachel Wallace, Junior School Teacher, Grade 6

Rachel brings a wealth of experience both in teaching and leadership to the Junior School. She has spent the last nine years working as a classroom teacher working across a variety of year levels at Greythorn Primary School. Rachel has a deep understanding of the effective ways in which to teach literacy and numeracy and thrives on offering a differentiated curriculum that increases student engagement, caters for individual learning needs and is rich in technology. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary).

 

 

Jade Christensen, Junior School Teacher

Jade also returns to Huntingtower as a Graduate Primary School Teacher after graduating in 2014. Jade will be assisting in the Junior School and will be relieving Sarah Cummins whilst she is on Parental Leave in Grade 5. Jade has been working as a Casual Relief teacher for the last 18 months at both Huntingtower and various Primary Schools around Melbourne. Jade is an accomplished Cricket player and is committed to providing a safe and supportive classroom environment where every student can thrive. Jade holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary).

 

 

Lesa Koffyberg, School Nurse

Lesa is a dynamic and outcome focused nursing professional with broad qualifications and experience across health, nursing, education and community. Her experiences has crossed several roles that encompass strategic, operational and service design in national health reforms, chronic disease, wellbeing and resilience and customer experience.  Lesa has also facilitated and developed an Education program that includes VET programs such as Individual support, First Aid and Medication management. Lesa is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science – Advanced Nursing-Education and a Diploma in Business (Community services & Health Management).

 

 

Ivan Key, OHS Officer

Ivan brings a wealth of knowledge to Huntingtower in all areas of Occupational, Health & Safety. For the last 12 years, Ivan has been the School Safety Officer for Scotch College. His role included managing risks for all School trips including camps and activities, being an integral part of all committees related to OHS, and vehicle management. He has previously also worked with Kingham Hill School and lectured at Oxford College of Further Education. Ivan holds an Advance Diploma in Work Health and Safety, a Graduate Diploma in Management and is currently studying his Masters in Business Administration.

 

 

Simone Nuroo, Human Resources Manager

Simone is a passionate Human Resources professional who comes to Huntingtower with over two decades of proven experience in all areas of HR encompassing Recruitment, Industrial Relations, Employment Law, Workplace Culture and Employee Relations, Payroll, Coaching and Mentoring, Policy development and Compliance, Training and Occupational, Health & Safety. Past roles span a variety of industries including Manufacturing, Retail, and IT Consulting.  Simone has a consistent history of involvement and leadership across specialist global Human Resources teams, projects and policy development. A positive and enthusiastic HR leader who is driven to make a deep contribution with a strong desire to lead and empower others to see and reach their potential. Simone holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Human Resource Management.
