Uni Roadshow comes to O'Connor

 

Year 12 students gained extra insight into 'Uni life' and scholarship opportunities today when representatives from Charles Sturt, Newcastle, Southern Cross Universities along with the University of New England shared their knowledge and experiences with the cohort. Students were asked to consider the various aspects of attending university and the pathways to enrolment during the session. Thank you to those staff who traveled to visit us today.

School Leaders Meeting at NEGS

NETWORKING WITH LEADERSHIP: College Captains Fletcher Schultz and Bridie Giles making connections on Tuesday night. 

 

At the commencement of every year, the Leaders from around the schools in Armidale meet and share their experiences. This year NEGS hosted this valuable event on Tuesday evening. Thank you to NEGS for their hospitality.

Guyra show report

Despite COVID restrictions several students competed at Guyra Show in a variety of disciplines.

Congratulations to past student Sam graham who won the U25 Cattle judging, 

Jack Lockyer – 2nd Novice Silver shear and backed up to win the event in Ashford on Sunday.

Abby van Eyk who won both Junior sheep and fleece judging – with her pupils from earlier in the week taking 2nd to 7th in the fleece

Arlie Tanner had a good day out with her horse in the hack ring

Phoebe Colvin, Will Starr, Mitchell Northam, Emma Gray and Emily Simpson all groomed for regional cattle studs and led a multitude of champions over the weekend

Jack Foster had a good day out with his yard dogs

Thank you to all the students who competed and assisted over the weekend. You all helped to make the Guyra community a better place.

Joseph Stanley Trailblazer Award

 

2021 Year 12 student Joseph Stanley was placed in the Top 50 winners of the 2021 Trailblazer Awards. The awards celebrate Year 12 student's achievements beyond their ATAR and recognise those who used their final years of school to positively impact their community. A profile has now been set up which highlights Joseph's achievements. Well done Joseph.
