Sports Academy

The Heathmont Sports Academy is looking forward to an exciting 2022. The events of the past two years of the COVID effect caused the sports academy to rethink and restart how we delivered the program. As it stands, most of the program was delivered online!

In 2022, we are all hoping that COVID does not interfere with our plans, because in 2022, the sports academy has grown to the largest it’s been thus far with 70 athletes!

Brian Vaughns is now the Sports Academy Director and is the driving force behind the new direction of the program. Trent Pitts, is our new AFL/AFLW coach, and Meg Dargan has taken on a more involved role with Basketball and the academy functions.

Plans for 2022 include the first ever Sports Academy Awards Banquet as well as planning for a trip to Warner Bros Movie World (fingers crossed)! We are working towards making sure the sports academy is firing on all cylinders to service our athletes.

We have 3 phases of the academy streams: Basketball, AFL/AFLW, and the Gifted Athletes Program (GAP) which is a program that services various sports such as Cricket, Athletics, Soccer, Field Hockey, Netball, Volleyball etc.

The Sports Academy is looking forward to the athletes achieving goals and growing as young adults in 2022, so STAY TUNED!
