SCHOOL REVIEW UPDATE

The Fieldwork days of our DET school review are occurring over the coming weeks. Throughout the Fieldwork days our reviewer and the panel will observe our classrooms, speak to small focus groups of parents, students, teaching and curriculum teams. Conversations will focus on our successes and areas of future focus for our school. Our new School Strategic Plan will be developed and shared with our community prior to the end of term.

PLANS FOR 2022

At this time of the year many hours are put into making well considered plans for the upcoming year for staff and students alike. The majority of staff will remain at CPS and we will also be warmly welcoming new teachers and support staff next year. Over the next few weeks final staffing decisions will be made and 2022 homeroom groups organised. Students and families will be informed of 2022 staffing and grades on Wednesday 15th December. On this day children will spend a short amount of time in their new homeroom group and classroom for 2022.

Final year level numbers are to be confirmed but we anticipate running 25 classes. We will have 4 classes in years prep to three and 3 grade four, five & six classes. Education support officer time will be in all teams of varying time fractions depending on class structures and the specific needs of each cohort.

MORE LOVELY NEWS TO SHARE

Alicia Parker shared the lovely news that she and her partner Dane are expecting their second child early next year.

I am sure you will join me in congratulating Alicia and Dane on this lovely news and we eagerly await the new addition to their family. I know Gracie will be very much looking forward to being a big sister.

WHOLE SCHOOL TABLOID SPORTS ON THURSDAY 16th DECEMBER

We have arranged for Kaboom Sports Kids to run two multi-aged tabloid events as part of our end of term celebrations. There will be two sessions with the first session running form 9.15 till 11am and the second from 11.30 till 1.15pm. This will be a lovely end of term activity for all our students to enjoy together.

Thank you to Mr Pollard and Mr O’Brien for supporting this event.

CURRICULUM DAY – FRIDAY 17th DECEMBER

Our Curriculum Day planned for term 3 was cancelled due to our move to home learning. School Council has approved a Curriculum Day on Friday 17th December.

In light of this, the school year for our students and families will end on Thursday 16th December at 3.30pm. Please pop this date into your diaries. There will be no school for children on this day but Youth Leadership will be offering a program for families.
