Aitken College Hens – Free to good home

The Sustainability and Agriculture Department has 30 Hy line brown hens to give away.

The Hy line brown is an excellent hybrid egg-laying chicken which adapts easily to different environments and is extremely friendly. They produce 300 plus eggs annually. The eggs themselves have great shell colour, robustness, size and internal quality.

These hens are about 3 years old and have about 2 – 3 years of laying left. The hens are easy to handle and children safe and can make great pets.

Pen Bins

It is coming close to the end of another school year, which means that cleaning out pencil cases is top priority for most students, and there are sure to be many empty pens and textas. Please refrain from throwing these in the regular red bins or recycling bins. Instead, there are Pen Bins all around the school. The locations of these bins are in the main office near First Aid, in the Senior School office, in the Library, in the Chapel and Performing Arts foyer and for younger students there is one located in F8. Please do the right thing as these pens and textas are going to be donated to Officeworks, and finally recycled in order to protect the environment. Charleigh M and Luis G
