Year 4 camp! By Mia, Adele and Tenisha (4AT)

29/11/21 on Monday, the year 4s set off on the bus to Allambee Camp. Once we arrived there, the year 4’s got their bags and got settled into their cabins. Once everyone was set up, we got ready for our first activity. Our activities included the Flying fox, raft building, hut building, billy carting, low ropes, orienteering and archery.

We had lasagne for dinner and it was delicious! After dinner we went to our cabins and got ready for the night walk. The night walk had lots of hills and animal tracks. After the night walk, we had supper around the campfire and got ready for bed.

30/11/21 on Tuesday, we got out of bed and had breakfast. Then we went back to our cabins and got ready for our big day with lots of activities. We did our first couple of activities and then we had a little break then got back to more activities. After that we had burgers for lunch. We did one more activity and then had some free time in our cabins. After that we had chicken parma for dinner. After dinner we did a quiz and played some board games. Then we had supper and got ready for bed.

01/12/21 on Wednesday the year 4s woke up to pack their bags and clean their cabins. They had a special treat for breakfast and that was… PANCAKES! After their very yummy meal they got ready for their last activity. After the activity all the year 4s made bracelets out of the beads they collected as they completed each activity. Then they got ready to head back home! 'BEEP BEEP' and before we knew it the bus was driving up the bumpy road!

After a long way home all the year 4s felt extremely tired and ready for a good night of sleep! 😀 Thanks to all of the teachers (Sarah, Adam and Olivia) and adults (Michelle, Sam, Jo and Ben) for keeping us all happy and safe while away on camp! Another big thank you to Sheree, Fiona, Lisa, Rach and Duncan for helping to make camp possible for the year 4s this year.

Adam Goodes

2 legs, 2 arms, one colour, he's human

So please stop that booing

He retired because of you!

2 eyes, 2 ears, one game

He can see and hear

So what are you doing?

Please stop that booing!

Colour doesn't matter

Don't be that guy

Because when you are older

No one will like you!

Remember this is our game

SO PLEASE

STOP THAT BOOING!

December 3rd is International Day of People with Disability. Some classrooms acknowledged this day by hearing from children living with disability, as they shared their experiences, frustrations and celebrations/goals for the future. It created an excellent discussion around inclusion, equality and respecting difference. Some classes also completed an activity where they wrote a sentence using the braille alphabet. This gave students a wonderful understanding of how important communication is and, while it may have been challenging for students, people living with a vision impairment who learn the braille alphabet find it quite simple to use.
