Fr Gaetan Pereira Interhouse Cross-country Carnival

In these unique and challenging times for sport the John XXIII College PE staff have banded together to implement a plan to run the Interhouse Cross-country Carnival. The race will look very different to previous years however the presentation of the Fr Gaetan Pereira Shield, House Spirit Award and Individual Champions will take place.

All Years 7-10 students will take part in a new modified course during their double PE lesson in weeks four or five. Students in Years 11 and 12 will have the opportunity to race at an alternate time, more information will be sent out in the notices next week.

Details for the modified competition:

  1. For supervision and safety reasons the course will only take place on the college ovals. This will be marked out ready for classes to familiarise themselves with in their PE lessons next week.
  2. All students will run the same distance with different cut off times for house points for males and females.
  3. Students require full PE uniform with their House shirt and a water bottle.
  4. Each student is encouraged to accessorise themselves in their House colours (within reason), ideas include coloured socks, headbands, ribbons etc. They must be able to run the course while wearing these accessories. If students are unsure, they can run their ideas past their House Coordinator or PE teacher for approval.

Cross Country Class Race Schedule

Our Inter-House Cross Country carnival will look very different this year, however will still be a fantastic event, filled with House Spirit and participation.
