CUT FOR CANCER

Crowds gathered at a centred stage in Marian Catholic College, with unsettled feelings eager to see the Cut for Cancer campaign featuring James Moore and Alexander Mulrooney Castellano. The pair had grown their luscious locks for over two years and made the noble decision to snip their precious hair for a worthy cause. A whopping $3000 has been raised so far due to the tremendous generosity of friends, family and the
Marian community, truly demonstrating Marian’s desire to assist fundraising efforts and rewarding the effort of the two men. The funds are going to be donated to The Australian Cancer Research Foundation to allow continued research to expose cures for ruthless cancers. The Foundation was part of one of the Year 12’s chosen charities and is a worthy charity to support. The lunch time activity consisted of a student raffle with the winners cutting off a section of hair, as well as an auction to bid on who shaves the heads of the two volunteers. Thanks to Kara Howard from La Perla Salon Griffith, the two men ended up with stylish shaved heads. This was a successful fundraiser for Year 12 which shows the true community spirit within Griffith.
