Sustainability

Yesterday a number of Year 5 and 6 students attended the 17th annual School

Sustainability Festival at the St Kilda Town Hall. It was a fantastic day in which schools

from all over Melbourne came together to celebrate the amazing projects that are being undertaken to create a sustainable future. Our Year 5 students led a workshop where they shared the wonderful STEM projects they have been working on this term.

Excursion to TwistED Science

On Tuesday 30th August, Year 3/4 went on an excursion to ‘TwistED Science’ in Moorabbin. The children travelled by bus to the venue and were broken into two groups. One group went to the ‘Physical Sciences’ lab and the other group went to the Playzone which was full of science activities.

The children had a wonderful time learning, playing and working with a variety of materials to investigate forces in action. In the lab, the classes hypothesised, discussed, observed, identified and worked with many different physical forces including push and pull, static electricity, magnetism, friction and gravity.

We thank the wonderful parents for coming along and the amazing teachers Miss Corrio, Miss Contin, Mrs Busch and Mrs Conway who organised this great excursion.

Poetry

For writing this week the 3/4 students have used inspiration from their writer’s notebooks to create their own poems using our senses

- see, hear, smell, touch, taste-
