Miss Olivia Quinlan

Yesterday we farewelled Olivia after six marvelous years of teaching and leadership at St James.  It was a difficult moment to see Olivia drive off especially when you consider how deeply she was invested with our children, teachers and parents.

As an educational leader Oliva has been exceptional.  The impact Olivia has had on the lives of all of our children could never be measured as the impact will last for many, many years.

St James has been blessed because of her professionalism, integrity, educational vision, courage, compassion and love for our children.  She will be greatly missed and we know that her impact will be felt in other school communities.

Congratulations and thank you Miss Quinlan for six wonderful years with our children at St James!

Event Event Event

During Covid times there were many times that we felt disconnected as a community.  Online teaching, no school gatherings, no parents able to visit the school yard or even be in classrooms.  It was not a great time for community building.

What a change has happened recently at St James!  We have had parents, children and teachers reconnected and the positive vibe of St James  has returned in a massive wave.

Prep pyjama night with mums and dads in Foundation, Story Night with the Y1/2 parents and children , First Communion and the luncheon, Port Phillip Sustainability Festival excursion, Twisted Science excursion, Dream City excursion, Maths night, Parent Helpers information session, Allied Health information session, Hoop Time, Book Week parade, District Athletics, sport sport sport, Fathers Day breakfast,  etc etc.

Today it is the COLOUR RUN and what a day it will be.  Fun, silliness, giggles, paint spread on our beautiful kids,  sliming of teachers.  Many thanks to all parents and in particular Kate Korber for organizing today.  After two postponements we are now ready for a happy, happy day.

Fathers Day breakfast

The Fathers Day breakfast yesterday was sensational.  Many thanks to our Mums, ably led by Meg Donoghue and Sally Hansen and the team of Mums who ensured that the day was a huge success.

Reflection

Jesus loved to teach his followers about the things that matter to God.  One day as he was teaching, he was asked what was the greatest in the eyes of God. Jesus put his arms around a little child and told them that in God’s eyes, anyone who is like a child is the greatest.  Jesus explained it was the trust, the openness, and the love of the child that made them the greatest in God’s eyes. God sees something great and wonderful in all of us and simply in being yourself.

Faith in our future
