5-8 Community News

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Thank you for continually supporting the College with your child's learning. This makes our job as educators much easier. As families, you have continued to ensure that the children have kept some form of a routine in order to meet their curriculum needs. Thank you.

We are optimistic that we will be back on a full-time basis next term. The classroom will look a little different when students return to school. There will be opportunities for flexibility, relationship improvement, student voice, etc. Given that this round of Remote Learning has been difficult, we need to honour what our students have asked for in their survey.

If you find that our students are experiencing boredom over their holidays. That's fine. Boredom is a skill and our kids don't always need to be stimulated. However, if you feel like conducting some activities as a family, why not use our Health and Wellbeing Matrix.

We look forward to welcoming students back in their new uniforms.

As we move into the holidays, please take the time to look after yourselves and your family. Get out, see the sun and continue to live in the moment. Please do continue to ask and check in with loved ones by asking 'R U OKAY?'.

Safe holidays,

Anthony Poppa and Corey Carver

Years 5 and 6 Good Deeds Project

When you share kindness, it creates a ripple effect. Kindness helps to reduce stress, boosts our immune systems and also lessens negative emotions like anxiety. Over the last week we set our Years 5 and 6 students a challenge to share kindness through completing a good deed.

Our students did many different types of good deeds throughout the week which involved baking and cooking, emails, letters and phone calls, helping families and letting parents know just what an amazing job they are doing.

We hope our random acts of kindness inspire you to do the same for someone else.
