ADMISSIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS

Our newsletters are the best way to stay in the loop of what is happening at St Joseph’s College.
We regularly publish news on the website and Skoolbag to keep the college community up to date with current information, events, items of interest, student achievements and college activities.
Community, the Newsletter, is published each month during the school term and aims to collect important posts from our website, community notices and advertisements.
We ask that all parents read our website or/and newsletter to stay updated with all the college news.

2022 ENROLMENT
There are limited places available for Year 7 2022. If you have a child who will be commencing or know of a family who is considering enrolment at the college, please do not hesitate to contact me via email taston@sjcmda.vic.edu.au or call me on 5018 8034 to complete an application.
2022 STUDENT RETURN
It would be appreciated if parents would advise me via email to taston@sjcmda.vic.edu.au if your son or daughter is not returning to the college for 2022. Due to the easing of the current COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns the date to advise of a student not returning has been extended to Friday November 5.
All families agree in writing to abide by the college's policies and procedures upon enrolment of their child.
As per our fee policy (point 14.3) in instances where a student exits the college without providing one term’s notice in writing or equivalent, one term’s fees will apply. Charging of the fee is not a penalty for withdrawal without notice but a calculation of genuine economic loss incurred by the college. This is the reason the late withdrawal fee is applied.
The college plans for, and commits to, a range of staffing costs and services, such as a laptop leases, camps and excursions, in advance. Where a student is withdrawn without sufficient notice, the college may not be able to fill that place at late notice which results in a commitment to costs that are no longer required. The withdrawal of a student in shorter than the agreed notice period now also becomes a cost incurred by other parents. Naturally the college will exercise discretion over fees in exceptional cases such as personal hardship or family bereavement.
Please contact me by email taston@sjcmda.vic.edu.au if you need to give the college notice if your family is leaving the district or of your intention to withdraw your child/ren from the college. If you require further information, please do not hesitate to call me on 5018 8034.
ANNUAL PHOTO CONSENT
At certain times throughout the year, students may have the opportunity to be photographed or recorded/filmed by the college or its service providers for college publications, such as the college’s magazines, newsletter or website and social media such as Instagram, or to promote the college in newspapers and other media such as television and radio.
Catholic Education Ballarat (CEB), Catholic Education Melbourne (CEM), Mercy Education Limited (MEL), relevant Parish, Diocese of Ballarat and the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria Ltd (CECV) may also wish to use student photographs/recordings in print and online promotional, marketing, media and educational materials.
We would like permission to use your child’s photograph/recording for the above purposes. Please complete the permission form attached and return it to me at the college. This form must be completed annually.
In addition to this form all students in Year 8 2021 need to complete the attached ICT Services Agreement. It would be appreciated if this could be signed and returned with the photo permission form.
Thank you for your continued support.
