PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

AN OPTIMISTIC OUTLOOK
Resilient and resourceful, our students have proven themselves to be role models of optimism. Despite repeated interruptions to their studies, the majority of students across all year levels have remained focused, kept a positive outlook, and made the most of any time they had with their classmates and teachers.
With restrictions continuing to ease, we are grateful to be able to hold several events in the coming weeks. This year, these annual events will feel extra special.
- Remembrance Day, 11 November: Through remembrance, we come closer to peace. The college will hold a ceremony and assembly to commemorate the lives of those who lived during and fought in the Great War (WWI).
- Year 12, 2022 Headstart, 17 November – 26 November: Following the end of their exams on 16/11, the Class of 2022 will have 8 days of workshops and events to build excitement for their final year and equip them with the tools they need to achieve their best.
- Year 11, 2022 Headstart/Novus Camp 29 November – 3 December: Students moving into Year 11 head to Melbourne for the five-day, four-night Novus Urban Experience. Aimed at exposing young people to the excitement, challenges, and opportunities offered by pursuing tertiary education away from home, students will attend presentations at many educational venues and enjoy planned recreational activities among the sights and sounds of Melbourne.
- End of Year Mass, 25 November: A celebration of St Joseph’s College, this year’s mass will honour Mercy’s 115-year legacy of learning in Mildura and our hopes for the future.
- Year 12 Graduation Dinner, 25 November: An evening to celebrate and farewell our Year 12 2021 graduates.
We believe in our students. Although the past two years have tested everyone’s optimism, it feels as though everyone has come through with renewed positivity and optimism, more determined than ever to experience a summer full of good times with the people they cherish.
God Bless,
Mrs Marg Blythman
