RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Welcome back to our final term of the year and as we enter October Mission Month. Once again, things will be a little different this year. In view of Mission Fete Day, Mass and other activities, we will keep you up to date as we fine tune the details.

Yesterday the staff attended an online professional development day presented by Jim Waight from the Catholic Education Office Ballarat.

The theme for the day was ‘Nourishing our Spirit’ , a formation of the heart and the act of deep listening. Guided by a process that holds itself within relationships built on the foundation of individuals, others, creation and God.

Staff were encouraged to explore spirituality within their own life. To build on their capacity, willingness and confidence in their roles as Catholic school leaders and educators.

The key focus was exploring the Sabbath- In biblical terms- a day of rest. In today’s reality our Sundays can be just as demanding as any other day in the week. Therefore in order to be the best person we can be, we need to create space and make time to listen to our hearts and nurture our spirit.

I encourage you all to take some time, anywhere from five minutes to half an hour each day and nourish your spirit. Clear your mind and rejuvenate your body and spirit.

Take care and stay safe
