FOUNDATION - Around the Traps

Diana Rinaldi

A little bit late, but welcome to Term 4!

Can you believe these beautiful kids have almost finished their first year of school. They are an amazing group and will do wonderful things going through school together.

We welcome Freya to our class. She has settled into our St Joseph’s life beautifully!

Literacy

This week our shared text is The Paper Bag Princess - a favourite of many! It is a wonderful story about a Princess trying to rescue her Prince from a fire breathing dragon with an unexpected ending! Our spelling focus is er as in teacher

Maths

Students have continued to solve stories and play a variety of games to practice subtraction. The students will continue to build on these strategies and focus on number sentences and counting back from the largest number. We have also continued to explore the concept of ‘difference’ to compare two quantities. Another great game we have played this week is ‘Demolition Diffy Towers.’

Bluearth

We have been thoroughly enjoying some Bluearth lessons recently. Teigan is a great teacher and we have had so much fun! Some of the games played this week were - Treasure, Hunter and Level Tag.

Cooking!

Well done to the Foundation students, Naomi, Isobel, Isla and Emily on a wonderful SAKG cooking lesson! The students had so much fun making cupcakes!! Enjoy the photos!

RE (Religious Education)

Foundation is learning about our Church. Last week we went on a tour of the inside of the Church and made a list of all the things that we saw, such as the altar, the crucifix, the priest's chair, the lectern and the Stations of the Cross.
