Sports Academy- MEP Challenge
Remote learning has seen the Junior and Middle school Lowanna Sports Academy students take part in a Myzone MEP (Myzone Effort Points) Challenge!
This is a competition between teams to keep active and motivated during this period. It has been fantastic to see the uptake by students earning as many MEPs as they can. Students participate by engaging in any form of exercise. Running programs and skill sessions (both prerecorded video and written session plans) are available online for students to complete.
The point system included a combination of:
- MEPS earnt
- Number of steps over a specific period
- Calories burnt
Bonus points can be earned by:
- 10 mins in red zone straight 200 points
- 5 mins in total in red zone 100 points
- 1000 if everyone on your team has participated
- Attendance online 200 points if over 80%
It has been amazing to see how many students are engaged, and we encourage them to continue their regime over the school holidays to maintain their fitness level. A prize will be awarded to the team who have the most points overall, as well as the individual student with the most points. This will be announced in the first week back at school
Art during Remote Learning
During remote learning, students in Years 7 and 8 have been learning the concept of drawing using Grids. Grid drawing is a technique that will help improve student accuracy in drawing proportions. Check it out!

Well done Hunter- look at that amazing prize pack!
