Middle Years Leaders share tips with Year 7s on how to survive lockdown

On Monday 6 September, a special Year 7 assembly was called, as the Middle Years Leaders put on a seminar about health, wellbeing and how to survive during lockdown. This program was an initiative completely planned and run by the Year 9 students. The topics that were covered were dealing with emotions, dealing with different aspects of lockdown, techniques for stress release and managing daily tasks. The Year 9 students also created a booklet of resources that students can use with some very informative links and articles. They also launched a colouring competition and scavenger hunt for the Year 7 students to enjoy and have some chill out time. This hour long program was such a success, that the Middle Years Leaders have been invited to run a similar program with the Year 8 students. I would like to congratulate the Year 9 students who were involved: Vanda Amin Moayyed (9.20), Max Broadley-Thompson (9.21), Jessica Graham (9.21), Ryan Jarrott (9.21), Lani McGregor (9.20), Sharntai Niemann (9.21), Keishi Sasuga (9.20) and Mary Spratt (9.19).

Thank you for all your hard work and guidance with the Year 7s and we look forward to seeing how you have made a difference in their lives.
