Performing Arts

Welcome to Term 4 in the Performing Arts. We hope students and families have had a relaxing break and are ready for the final school term of 2021.

While we have been disappointed that we have had to cancel many events this year, including our ensemble evenings, soirees, and a musical, we are certainly grateful that our community has remained well and that we have been able to continue private instrumental lessons and ensemble rehearsals online.

We are particularly proud of our VCE Music Performance and Drama students who have shown an immense amount of ingenuity and resilience in getting through their studies through these restrictions. Practical subjects, such as these, require a lot of adaptability in the use of space and technology. We also appreciate the support of the students’ families in the assistance they have provided.

As part of their VCE studies, students of both Music Performance and Drama must perform in front of an audience. Usually, the concerts we hold for Unit 4 of each of these subjects are a celebration of many years of dedication, rehearsals, and study, and students get to show their final school performance to family and friends. This year, however, students performed to a small group of relevant teachers. The talent displayed by each student was exceptional. The students performed with great skill and confidence and should be very proud of themselves.

The Drama students have now undertaken their final practical examinations and Music Performance students will be examined over the next couple of weeks.  We wish these students the very best for their results.
