Cebula Boarding

Boarding News

Our Year 7s returned from camp exhausted but very happy. I visited briefly and was very impressed to see how enthusiastically they were participating in the many varied and exciting activities on the camp program and it’s been awesome to see new friendships start to develop as a result of the few days away.

Last week we also had the pleasure of accompanying several of our boys to their Rite Journey Calling and Departure Ceremony at Lesmurdie Falls. It was wonderful seeing the use of symbolism to highlight the boys being called on their journey and receiving the blessing and support of parents/guardians as they depart into beginning adulthood. Thank you to the families for allowing us to attend with their sons.

This week, all our boarders did Cebula proud, finishing second in the swimming carnival. As a smaller house, filling events can only happen because of the boys' willingness to swim in numerous races to ensure Cebula is well represented. I was so proud to see the Cebula determination and commitment shine through with some excellent performances and 100% effort.

A feature of the boarding program at Mazenod is our dynamic Weekend Recreation Program which is now in full flight. This weekend some of the weekend rec options include Glow Mini Golf, Go Karting, Bounce, Fremantle Prison Torchlight Tour and some cooking on campus with our boarding staff. It certainly looks like our boys have much to look forward to!
