Club Day – Bring a Friend from Mazza!
Venue: High Velocity Hockey Stadium - Southern River
(Gay Street, Huntingdale WA 6110)
Date: Sunday the 19th of March
Time: 1:30 to 5:00pm
Please join us for our annual Club Day. It’s a fantastic opportunity to come along with some friends from Mazenod and give hockey a go. If you’re unsure or in two minds, please come along. This is a no pressure friendly environment.
The Club will provide a sausage sizzle and soft drinks. Hockey International will have a stall with a variety of hockey sticks, bags and shin pads for sale. For new members, there will be a limited amount of equipment that can be loaned for the training session or even the season!
Mouthguards - Make sure you have a mouthguard for Club Day (if you have ordered one that has not arrived, you MUST have a chemist one for the day), no player can be on the field without their mouthguard.
Timetable for Club Day:
- 1.30pm - Arrive and register.
- 2.00pm - Warm Up and small group sessions – Drills, skills and mini games
- 3:30pm – Year 12 vs Old Boys game and Sausage sizzle for students and spectators
- 5.00pm – Finish

Registrations
Please register by the 5th of March. This will allow us to get provisional teams registered with HockeyWA.
Registrations are open for returning as well as new members. Feel free to join us or to give hockey a try. New members are welcome, regardless of previous experience or skill level.

The Hockey WA Competition is during Term 2 and Term 3, fixtures start in April and run for about 20 weeks until the end of August. Finals are usually held in September.
As some coaches are parents, we need to wait until after Club Day to confirm teams, to know which coaches are associated with which team, to confirm training times. We will do this ASAP after Club Day.
Hockey Tour 2023
We are pleased to announce a proposed hockey tour to Brisbane in July 2023. There will need to be sufficient interest for the tour to be viable. The tour is offered to pupils in Years 11 and 12 only. Time between the sessions will be spent on excursions in the local area. At this stage we open the invitation to all students who are interested in the qualifying year groups.

Mouthguards
The College is offering mouthguard fittings for the upcoming winter sport season. This provides a great opportunity to have a professionally fitted mouthguard at the College campus. All fitting are in the College gymnasium kitchen at lunchtime (12:45-1:25)
Fitting dates are:
Friday 17th March
Friday 24th March
Mouthguard forms are available from the gymnasium noticeboard folders/newsletter/webpage. Please return completed forms to Mr Mason in the PE office or in the return slip box in the gymnasium foyer.
