Congratulations to Molly Stokeld and Oliver Riley who gained selection in the Polding Teams for Basketball and Tennis respectively.

SWIMMING CARNIVAL

On Friday 17 February we will hold our annual swimming carnival. Children from Year 2 - Year 6 will attend. The Swimming Carnival will be held at City Pool (Kable Avenue)

We would ask that all students be at City Pool by 8:30am so that we can start the Carnival at 9:00am sharp.

At our School Swimming Carnival each year we split the students up into three (3) groups:

Confident 50m swimmers
25m swimmers
Non-swimmers

Non-swimmers are only to compete in the novelty events and are not allowed to swim in a 50m or 25m race. If a student is swimming in a 50m race they cannot swim in the 25m race in the same stroke.

Upon arrival at the swimming carnival students who are non-swimmers MUST wear a wrist band which will be issued by a teacher as they enter the pool. Students will need to get their name marked off by their colour house teacher once they enter the pool and again before they leave in the afternoon. If students are not getting collected at the pool by their parent or guardian, they need to email their class teacher prior to the day giving consent. Please note that all children are expected to make their own way to and from the carnival. Students are encouraged to bring their own recess, lunch and plenty of water to drink. As mentioned above, students who are non-swimmers will need to wear a wrist band at all times at the carnival.

The basketball season for children in Years 3-6 begins on Thursday 22 February. Please go to Compass events to nominate your child to play and they will be placed in a team.

NETBALL

Dear Netball Families,

It is that time of year again! Please read the information attached to this post. I have labeled a paper copy for all of last year's players and they will be coming home today. There are blank copies for new players with each teacher. Please- only use the links in this post or the newsletter to register your child. These are exclusive St Nicholas links (except the Kindergarten SKILLS link). These links are live on 31/1/23 and close 1/3/23. Another little job is to check the fit of your St Nicholas Netball dress/uniform. We do not carry a lot of sizes in stock, so using the trying-on and ordering days are important! We can help you sell your old uniform in our second-hand uniform store.

Emma Elliott and Georgia Johnson will make themselves available in the Year 6 Learning Space (The Zone) at the times listed below in regards to trying on uniforms, ordering and payment of uniforms.

Thursday 23rd February 3:30pm-5pm

Saturday 25th February 9am-11am

Direct deposit is available for new uniforms ($45), cash must be used for second-hand uniforms- about $20/$25 per uniform.

Soft netball visors are available from the front office in two sizes- child and adult for $8.00 and $9.00 respectively.

Please email Emma Elliott (eelliott@arm.catholic.edu.au) if you cannot make these times. Please note that we need to order by the 1st March 2023 to get the uniforms made and sent back in time for the netball season.
