Notes from the office

CSEF for 2019

If you already receive CSEF (Camp, Sports, Excursion Funding) you do not need to re-apply for 2019. You will only need to re-apply if you have a new child starting school or there are any changes to your Health Care Card.

Staff Car Park

The staff car park is designated for teachers, staff and school business related visitors.  It is also there for school members that have approved disabled parking permits.  Due to limited spaces, PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS ARE NOT TO PARK IN THIS CAR PARK OR  USE IT AS A DROP OFF ZONE from 8:30am until 9:30am and then from 3:00pm – 4:00pm unless specific arrangements have been made with the Principal.

Parent Contact Details

It is vital we have up to date email addresses, phone numbers and residential addresses for families.  In emergency situations and if your child is sick, it is crucial that we can contact you easily.  If you have changed your phone number or your Emergency Contacts have altered, please either use the Sentral Parent Portal to update these or send the school an email chelsea.heights.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au

SunSmart

The CHPS SunSmart policy states that sun protection must be used whenever UV levels are 3 or higher.  Please check the daily sun protection times on the SunSmart widget that can be found on the home page of our website.  If you cannot check the daily UV level, please use sun protection from mid-August to the end of April (when Victoria’s UV levels are typically above 3).

All students are required to wear hats that protect their face, neck and ears (legionnaire, broad-brimmed), whenever they are outside during sun protection times.  Peak caps and visors are not considered a suitable alternative.

Students who do not have appropriate hats or outdoor clothing are asked to play in the shade or a suitable area protected from the sun.

Students must provide their own SPF30 (or higher) broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen. This is included on the school’s booklist each year. 
