Story Dogs

Story Dogs is a fun and unique reading support program designed to improve children’s reading and communication skills, whereby children read to a trained companion dog and its handler.

The Story Dog program is primarily designed for students who have reading challenges, language challenges or are suffering from some sort of trauma, and who do not have access to extra support in the classroom (i.e. are not funded and have no integration aide).

Although the dog is immaculately groomed, fully wormed with flea protection, children with allergies are not recommended to be involved with the program.

The program is free to all selected students.
