Language Perfect World Championships 2019

This year the LPWC were held for seven days from 27th August – 3rd September. The girls competed with other students in their classroom, the school, with other schools in Victoria, Australia and many countries around the world. We had another very successful year and Killester achieved fourth place in the world overall on the global scoreboard. For the Indonesian language, as a school, we achieved first overall in the world and first overall in Victoria and for the Italian language, as a school, we achieved second overall in the world and first overall in Victoria. We had 182 winners overall win awards in all categories  from Elite (10,000 pts), Emerald (5000 pts), Gold (3000 pts), Silver (2000 pts), Bronze (1000 pts) and Credit (500 pts). All Elite category winning students were finally presented with their trophy, certificate and badge at our recent school assembly last Wednesday 4th December. 

 

Congratulations to our top four students: In fourth place Christie Giang (14,000 pts), in third place Melinda Lao (16,572 pts), in second position Leah Tea (17,299 pts) and in first place from Year 9 Italian and with 21, 729 points, Charleene Ngo. Congratulations to all the students on a magnificent effort and we look forward to another successful year in next year’s Language Perfect World Championships 2020.  As Federico Fellini would say “A different language is a different vision of life”.   Above is a picture  of our Elite winning students.
