Classroom News

To help support our Indonesian program across the school, we will be doing the ‘Indonesian Word of the Week’.  It is displayed in every classroom across the school each week and used in general discussions between students and teachers. Perhaps you can then try and integrate them into your conversations at home as much as possible.

Nude Food Day - 3/4CD

On Monday 24th June, 2019 Junior School Council successfully co-ordinated a Nude food day to promote sustainability in our rubbish wastage at school. All class captains and school captains were involved in counting the plastic wrappers and rubbish brought to school by each class. Our young leaders went around to their respective classrooms to collect and observe the nude food lunchboxes of students at Rollins PS. Our classroom winner who will receive a sustainable prize with an indoor plant to provide cleaner air was Paul Cornells’ 5/6 class. 56C will receive their prize during the first week of Term 3. On behalf of Junior School Council, we would like to thank all students, teachers and parents who participated in the process. We were very successful in our message to encourage all students to bring nude food to school, and to become more sustainable by caring for our environment. We look forward to continuing our role within the school to ensure we are sustainable in our actions, and can’t wait for the next great initiative we have in store for Term 3 with our new class captains!

Kind Regards

STEAM at North Geelong Secondary College

Ezra, Meryem and Sasha have been participating in the North Geelong Secondary College's STEAM program each Monday afternoon this term. To culminate their learning they had to present to the group and each of their presentations were outstanding and professional. All three students displayed maturity and in-depth knowledge of what they had learnt during their time with Ms.Darling.

Well done to all three students for your dedication and enthusiasm towards the program

Captain's Comment

It has been great to see that all students throughout the school have been working hard as it starts to get to the end of term 2. Last week all students watched The Ridiculous Rhyme Show and everyone was full of laughter. On Tuesday, the 5/6 grades went down to Sovereign Hill to learn more about what it would be like in the diggings. On Wednesday this week, the 1/2 grades rode a bus down to the cinema to watch Toy Story 4. What a busy week it has been and I hope everyone has an amazing holiday.
