Inquiry Centre

Curriculum
Back into the school schedule, The Inquiry Centre had a fantastic start to Term 3!
Since it was NAIDOC week, we loved celebrating in different ways. In Reading this week we enjoyed learning about different Dreamtime stories. We applied our problem solving skills to help analyse and answer questions about the Dreamtime stories we read in our literacy groups!
In Writing, we have been learning about sentence structure. The students enjoyed practising this through writing recounts. We read a book about memories, then had the opportunity to learn and write about memories and how they make us feel.
In Mathematics last week, we enjoyed exploring Multiplication and the different strategies we can use to help us! Students experimented with strategies such as 'repeated addition', 'groups of', 'skip counting' and 'arrays' as we played some fun games using different materials to practice these strategies! We are looking forward to learning more about multiplication and also division this week!
Lastly, we began our Guided Inquiry topic of 'Celebrating Differences'. We are all very excited to learn more about our world by celebrating different cultures, as we begin our Guided Inquiry groups this week!
We are looking forward to 3-Way Conferences this week, see you there!
Enjoy your week,
Mrs Emily Sutherland, Mrs Emma McCoy, Miss Megan Campbell, Mr Aidan O’Connor, Miss Emma Marsh, Miss Emma Honan and Miss Emily Kiefte
