Principal's Report

Extra Curricular @ MPRPS

We are passionate about providing a range of activities that support students to grow and realise their potential. We place a great deal of value on every childs' wellbeing and aim to educate and develop the whole child. A part of this commitment is to provide opportunities for students to participate in a range of extra curricular activities. Some of these are funded by parents including WiseOnes, Music Tuition by Online Music, ICAS/now REACH and Thursday Morning YOGA. While many happen during the school day, through additional commitments from staff. These include Lunch Time Clubs, Choirs, Bands and Dance Troupes, Recess Radio, Tournament of  Minds.

This term there will be additional after school activities alongside the sporting program provided by Melbourne Sports Institute. These include a Chinese-Mandarin Language Program and STEM via LEGO Robotics provided by Young Engineers. I think you will agree this is a great range of activities to engage any child.

Justin from Online Music took time out of his schedule to set up for an amazing Friday Assembly performance by the Keyboard and Guitar students with Maddie singing. It was a true spectacle to see so many students playing together and we were all very impressed with their skill and coordination.

Three-Way Conferences

Please make sure you have made a time to meet with your child's teacher for this week. If you have missed the booking opening call the office and Ally can make a time. We hope that by having the conferences in Term 3 you have had a chance to read through portfolios and Semester 1 reports. We advise parents to download the reports as access to Sentral ends when your child finishes at MPRPS.

Cake Raffle

It's an institution our weekly Cake Raffle. We are very fortunate to have a community that is willing to support the school on such a regular basis. Every week the amount raised is published in the Parents and Friends section of the newsletter. Students enjoy the opportunity to check through their raffle tickets to see whether they were lucky enough to win and then the responsibility to choose from either cake or vegetables from the garden. Our student leaders who organise the raffle take the responsibility very seriously and they have to be organised and willing to stand up in front of assembly. To ensure the continued success of the cake raffle the cake needs to be delivered by 8.30am to the office on the Friday or the day before assembly to ensure tickets can be sold.

School Lunch Orders

Our first week of School Lunch Orders was a big success! Thank you to everyone that ordered and took the time to send us positive feedback about the smooth delivery and the quality of the food (healthy and good portion sizes.) I know many staff took advantage of the service, myself included.  For the rest of Term 3  lunch orders will continue each Thursday if parents have any issues with Flexischools or questions please call Ally in the office.
