Miss Fisher!

Earlier in the term the school welcomed Lauren Fisher into our art room three days a week. Miss Fisher is studying for her Bachelor of Art Psychotherapy through Ikon Institute in the city. She was keen to do a placement at our school, experiencing the cut and thrust that is Visual Art in the Primary school domain! Along with designing a sequence of process driven art lessons for the grade 1 and 2 children, Miss Fisher has also been running an Art Club on Thursday lunchtimes. These sessions have been really popular with a keen cohort of children. Together they have experienced some mindfulness breathing exercises, movement to music and directed art activities. Miss Fisher is always keen to ask kids how they are feeling as they make art. A copy of an information brochure about art psychotherapy put together by Miss Fisher is below. She is really enjoying her placement in our school, and looks forward to when she can utilise her new knowledge and understandings in her future career.
