From The Classroom

Team 5/6  go to theNGV

In Term 4, Team 5/6 have been enjoying our Creativity Integrated Unit, ‘Bizarre Bazaar’. During this unit, students have been asked to apply creative thinking to aspects of planning, designing, building and improving. On Wednesday 20th November and Thursday 21st November, Team 5/6 attended an excursion to the National Gallery of Victoria to complement the learning in this unit.

At the NGV, students were guided around the gallery by an NGV staff member, to engage with design on display. After that, students participated in a ‘Design Challenge’ which was a lively, hands-on design workshop that challenges student teams to respond creatively to a design brief related to current design exhibitions or displays. Students then had the opportunity to visit the gallery spaces once more, with a deeper appreciation of the artworks on display.

Students had a wonderful day and will be able to apply some of the key learnings from the design challenge into their inventions which will be on display at our Whole School Creativity Expo on Thursday 5th December.
