ISQua 2018 Conference

ISQua Kuala Lumpur 2018
We are very excited about this year’s conference that will be taking place in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia from 23rd to 26th September. The conference theme for this year is Heads, Hearts and Hands: Weaving the Fabric of Quality and Safety in Healthcare.
This year’s External Evaluation Pre-conference focuses on Integrated Care: The Next Frontier. It takes place from 09:15 on Sunday morning the 23rd of September in Level 3 Banquet Hall in the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Given the growing importance and interest in integrated care globally, and discussions with the Accreditation Council, it has been decided that the External Evaluation Pre-conferences in the coming years will continue to focus on the theme of integrated care and the different aspects and implications of this for external evaluation organisations.
The Innovations and Systems Change Working Group will also host a pre-conference on Sunday the 23rd of September on Massive Ageing as a Leverage Point to Describe the Tsunami of Consequences for the Safety and Quality of Healthcare: A Focus on the Need to Adapt Q&S Standards. This year, the Innovations and Systems Change Working Group will join the External Evaluation Pre-conference on Sunday afternoon, and will present feedback from the discussions at their morning workshop on adapting quality and safety standards. They will also participate in the panel discussion with presenters from the External Evaluation pre-conference. It promises to be an interesting session and we hope that as many of you as possible can join us on the day.
There will also be a debate on Tuesday afternoon the 25th of September on “Focusing only on clinical indicators is a more effective quality and safety strategy than participating in an accreditation programme” which may be of interest to those of you attending. It takes place from 13:45 – 15:15 in Conference Hall 2 on Level 3.

The IAP awards from the past year will be recognised by the Chair of the ISQua Accreditation Council Dr Stephen Clark on Monday afternoon the 24th of September from 15:45 in the Plenary Hall just before the main afternoon plenary session. If you are attending the conference we hope that you will come along to show your support for the organisations receiving their awards. We know that you can all appreciate that work that organisations put in to achieve ISQua accreditation.
