Primary Ethics 2020

What are you up to next year? We need Ethics volunteers for 2020!

I have been facilitating Primary Ethics classes at Bathurst Public School for the last two years and love seeing the kids each week to discuss their ethical viewpoints on all manner of things!

In 2020 I need help to ensure students in the following year groups don’t miss out:

  • Kindy
  • Stage 1 (years 1 & 2)
  • Stage 2 (years 3 & 4)

Without volunteers these classes cannot go ahead.

Volunteer commitment:

  • Commit to the role for the 2020 school year.
  • Be available for 1 hour each Wednesday to prepare and facilitate classes.
  • Be reasonably competent with computers and the internet.
  • Complete the required online training as well as background checks.
  • Complete face-to-face training in Orange on 1st & 2nd February 2020.

The program is Board of Education approved to help children develop the capacity to make well-reasoned decisions about ethical issues. The focus is on skills development in critical thinking and collaborative inquiry as opposed to the promotion of any particular ethical view.

Information sheets are available at the front office for families.

Could this be you? Or someone you know? Ethics Teachers don’t need a teaching or philosophy background, just a genuine rapport with children and a keen interest in learning.
